: Custom Spud Shaft?

Where can I get one made?

I bought an SM465 with the 3.5" AA adapter to a D300. I decided to use the 7" one because that put the D300 under the seat, away from the tranny, so it's easier to clock. To install the 3.5" adapter, however, you need to trim the mainshaft to be 2.8" from the back of the tranny, but the 7" needs it to be 3.2". So, I'm missing ~0.5" from my mainshaft. The 7" adapter comes with a spud shaft, but what are the chances I can get a new one made up with the right dimensions? I guess I can call AA and see if they have one for this scenario, but I'm thinking that won't be helpful.

Thoughts?

TIA,
Bryan

why not just get a new SM465 shaft? They can't be that expensive. Then you get to rebuild the 465 while your in there! :rasta:

Well, mostly because it'd be easier to pop a new shaft on there, and the SM465 is recently rebuilt as it is...

Though, it may come down to replacing the main shaft.

Thanks,
