Aluminum case NP 205? [Archive]

I saw a thread on another board about dodge using a Aluminum cased transfer case NP 205. As I recall it may have been behind 4 speeds in mid eighties dodge trucks. Can anyone confirm that they made these?... or is it a myth? I called the wrecking yard and got the " don't know anything guy".
Mostly curious.

Far as I know the 205 only came in cast. one reason why it's so beefy.
