I have been looking for some coilovers for my YJ , and I have a friend who just bought some race runners, and he told me that I could have them if I wanted them. (( Used ))
I was looking for 14 to 16 inch coilovers, because that seems to be what the majority of the peoples post said they were running..

Questions are..
Whats your opinions on the race runners ?
Is 18" to long for what I am gonna be doing with them , or should I go with the 14 and 16 inch ones.
these are the 2 1/2" coilovers and 18" of travel.

What would these things be worth?? I can get these for 500.00 for all four, I will still need to buy the springs though..

So, good deal, or should I wait and just buy some new ones and the size I was looking for or run the 18" ones..
Here is a picture of them

Thanks for your help.
I know what most new ones are going for. 275 to 300 a shock.

Sorry, I meant to put this in the non hardcore forum, my mistake.

They should be easily owrth the $500. 18" is kind of long, probably way too long for the front, but maybe you can swap them out with someone else or something. Or, mount them high enough and limit them so your steering doesn't bind.

They are good shocks, and those with the fixed reservoirs are more expensive.

those are like 500 or so each new.

I have them on my dodge and like them.

If you can make them work, I would use them.

Hmmmmm.... Interesting read.. Thanks Not sure how old or new these are, but they look pretty clean as of right now. Will need to see them in person to see whats going on.

I would'nt worry about it. Seems like only the newest SAW's are having the finish problem. I just went and looked at mine and there is no rust, and they have been sitting for a while.

I have seen similar finish issues on my own Fox and Bilsteins. That is kind of the nature of the beast. Better finishes cost more $ and everybody wants a down in the dirt price.

SAW are fine. 18" is a bit long as it can be trouble to find springs for a rockcrawler. Limit the travel if you need to.

$125 ea. is a great price for those shocks.

Ditto that.

+ If you want to get it low it will be fun mounting in the front, def. going through the hood or at a mad angle.

I'd say sell on ebay and buy some 14" or 16" to use, or run these inthe rear and trade someone for 14 or 16 for th efront.

Take them, brand new ones will cost you an arm and a leg. I bought 16" SAW's.

Thanks for the info.. I was thinking of doing just what you were saying, I have been doing some more searching, and I may try to sale two of them, and do as you mentioned and get two 14" for the front. Keep the 16" for the rear.
Maybe cut the hood, but I do not really want to do that.

Thanks again..:smokin:

We fit the 16" SAW's on my YJ without cutting the hood, and we actually lowered the Jeep too.

I run 16's in front and 18's in the rear on my buggy. The hood is cut, but they barely come through. I could make 18's work on the front with a little cutting and taller mounts. For that price, you absolutely have to buy them, as stated earlier, give him my # if you're passing!:grinpimp:

One concern I have is.. Mine is a full body jeep, and I need to keep my back seat for my little girls, My wife and my little girls still like to go wheelin.
Would this keep me from being able to keep my rear seat in ?

Also, HOWYADOIN.. Your pictures are not working, I would like to see them. I am only getting rex X's.

If anyone else is running TJ's or YJ's with 18" coilovers, please post up your photos..

Thanks
