Flame away, maybe it is a dumb question...:D

Anybody done hydro assist with the stock push pull steering? I mean, once you change to the ram doing most the work, why would you need to bother messing with the linkage to the axle? The reason to go to cross over is to get rid of bumpsteer and slop and articulation steer and broken steering arms because of the drag link angle. Seems like the ram will take care of all of those by removing slop, bump and articulation steer, and taking a lot of the stress off the steering arm.

Someone smarter than me please tell me:

a - exactly how dumb I am

b - exactly why I am dumb

c - anything else you can think of related to this

mark

oh yeah, someone please tell me to search also cause I forgot to

the steering box is still only gonna turn so far when ya are extended or compressed so still gonna have the bump steer issue . .

when the little draglink binds when you're flexed and you push it farther with hydraulics something will give??

It will help cover up slop in your steering, and stress of your linkage.

It will not cover up bump steer, articulation steer or bad steering geometry. Unless you change the steering geometry nothing is going to cover it up.

It will likely rip the steering box from the frame even faster than doing nothing.
