went four wheeling and developed this small problem: front tires spin in reverse, but not forward. Instead of spinning forward, the front axle makes this popping noise.
Could this be a broken or worn out ring gear or pinion gear or could it be related to the hubs? :confused:
The axle is a ford d44 ttb with auto hubs.
What can I do? I don't want to drive the trails in reverse :flipoff2:

take it apart and fix it.

The managers at my apartment really frown on "parking lot auto service". They get on to us for even changing the oil.
But if I had the time, the place, the right tools, and a little better knowhow, I would

First off shit can the Auto-Hubs.
That is in the near future. Maybe I'll dig into the ole' college fund. Or maybe break open my piggybank......man, that'll be tough........

its your front hubs :D just tourch them off and weld a new set on :smokin:
or do it the right way and unbolt them trow in trash can and bolt some manual hubs on takes about 30 min.
