I have a '94 s-10 with push-button 4 wheel drive. Sometimes, the light telling you if it is in 2 wheel or 4 wheel dosen't even light up. When it does this, I can't get it to go into 4 wheel at all without disconnecting the battery for at least 20 minutes to let the ECM reset. Sometimes, even when the light is on (telling you that it is in 2 wheel drive), I push the 4 wheel button and the 4 hi and 4 low buttons just flash 3 times simutaneously before going back into 2 wheel.

It wasn't really that big of a deal when it only happened about once a month, but now it happens damn near once a day. What should I change/test?

Sounds like the Encoder Motor. Just like a starter would go out, so will that Encoder Motor.

Hit the link in my sig and register on that board. There are people there that will know how to solve your problems. I've got first gen S-10's, so I haven't had to dig in to those damned push button systems.:D
