Anyone cook up any custom solutions for fuel can carrier on their truck?

I'm looking to buy or rig up something that can carry about 4-5 20L/5 Gal sceptre military diesel cans on the back of my open top.

Someone referred Ibistech, who makes a mount that that works with the stock AM general swing away tire carrier.

Others wield together a rack which they bolt down to the frame or roof rack.

I have a opentop so any roof rack solutions is out.

Anyone have pictures of their setup?

cant mount them in the bed? put a few more of the bed rings in and use straps. or fab up something for the sides?

That's what I'll probably wind up doing, strapping to the bed cargo loops, I'll probably get a sheet of metal, drill 2 mounting holes and bolt receiving holes on either side, that should make it easier to strap the cans, or bolt those cheapo single can holders into one metal plate and mount it on the rear fender.

tis what id always imagined doing after getting the rear re-sprayed with bedliner.

there are certainly enough loops in the bed to tie down anything. couple rachet straps or even some of those thick rubber straps would easily hold down a fuel can short of a tipover.

I made a jerry can rack for my '98 Dodge Ram years ago, it will hold 4 jerry cans. I sold the Ram a couple years ago, still have the rack. It's for sale in anyone's interested; jerry can holders not included. Pics are below.
