EB arms, Are they cast iron or cast steel? Is their a diff? A welder told me that cast steel welds like buter and cast iron needs pre and post heating ( I read the post on cast welding ) I see all these guys welding arms to lenghten and wrist joint but no one talks about the prosess!
Thanks for the help! Kevin

The arms are forged so you can weld on them without much problem. Use a good welder and burn it in there deep.

Glad to here it!! So I have a 220 mig on gas and I am a very good welder with mig and stick so which yould be the best to use. I started to make a tubular set with spherical joints and a wrist joint on the pass side but I wanted to check with the board befor welding to the c-cup on the arm!
Thanks again and any more info from the brains out their would be great!

I can only speak for Toyota arms, and they are cast steel.

you still want to pre heat them and after welding them, warm them down SSSSLOWLY.

and yup, 7018 <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
