Anyone actually receive a 1350/1354 doubler kit from Duffy in the last six months? That's how long ago I ordered 2 kits from him and I haven't heard from him in at least two months now.

I bought mine almost 2 years ago, if you are interested i might be willing to part with it. Perfect condition.

I'll consider it. Honestly, I would rather buy from him directly and have the shaft warrantied, plus I need two. Anyway, how much would you want for the one you have?

No matter how bad Duffy is at customer service, his product is less than half the cost of a stubler. Besides, I already have the cases split up and ready to go. It will only take me like 15 minutes once I get the adapter plate and shaft. Basically, at his price I am getting two doubler kits for the price of one stubler. Then again, its been six months since I ordered.

I am not trying to bash the guy, I just want to get to the bottom of this.

Duffy didn't die!!! I talked with him about a week ago. He will be sending next batch of shafts out for treatment any day now. Told me they would be available for shipment around first of March. I wanna say he said he was going to have several dozen kits ready to ship.

Just keep trying him. I got him on his cell the first try. He has his number listed in the vendor section under his 231 kit.

I have both his work and his cell number. The story I have been getting for the past 6 months is that the shafts are already at the heat treater and the heat treater keeps putting them off in favor of other work.

So IF, and I do mean IF he has kits ready to ship by the 1rst of March that means I will have waited a full 7 months. That is the better half of a YEAR and I paid him $800 up front!

I agree here. He is no longer a Yellow star vendor either so? I tried to get ahold of him , and madrooster. Either is hard to get ahold of.I think I will get mine from madrooster thought seeing as I can't get ahold of duffy. I am about a month from pulling the trigger. But when I do I need to know it will be here asap so I can get my truck moving.

Well, a small miracle occured today. I actually got ahold of Duffy on the phone. He said that the heat treater lost all the parts he had over there waiting to be heat treated for the past 6 months so he has to make all new shafts and get them back to the heat treater again. Said it would be at least 3-4 weeks before the kits were done and shipped.

Even if that was the case if you already bought it you would figure he would at least let you know. Or is that to much to ask for?

That's the reason I was getting annoyed. I have no problem waiting. I just like to be kept in the know when my money is on the line.

Sounds like a bunch of bullshit...losing shafts and all. Just have a reputable machine shop make the shaft from a trans output and your extra 1350 input. Have them spline and weld the 2 shafts making one. Make your own case adapter from 1/2 inch steel. Not that hard. Or wait and wait and wait with all the excuses.

Ok, let's think about this. What would be stronger? Two resplined shafts welded together or a brand new one piece heat treated 4340 chromoly shaft that also comes with a warranty? Seems like a no brainer to me no matter how long shit takes. BTW, I already have an adapter plate from the PO who broke the shaft they were running; they were running an early T&M version? can't remember specifics. Plus, Duffy's adapter plate is clockable. Hard to beat his kit at $400 for all that.

I can have 4 shafts made for the price of Duffy's kit and can change all 4 if need be before you ever see anything from D+D. I'm not saying Duffy's kit isn't a great deal...good luck getting one. I just don't have that kinda time to wait, and it doesn't sound like you do either.

I know Duffy does not sell the shafts alone since they are the major expense and he doesn't want anyone breaking a shaft because they did some kind of half assed block out plate.

As far as two piece shafts go, they work fine if you build them correctly and don't go wide open throttle with the doubler in LO and t-case in HI.

I have been running a 2-piece for years. All the breakage cases I have heard of involved people on WOT with the doubler in LO and t-case in HI. Or they made the shaft incorrectly.

Regardless, this DD kit seems like a damn good deal.
