I've got coilovers on my 96 4Runner. The prior owner had a big push bar on the front, but took it off before i bought it. Now the front end rides a little high. It's got after market springs front and rear, so I don't think it's the standard 4Runner sag.
Anyway, i'd like to lower the front end about an inch. Do I need a special tool? The coilovers have indents that look like a tool will hook into to adjust the height. Is there a lock ring of some sort? Do I need to remove anything more then the wheel?
Thanks

Wtf? dial down the adjuster?
Unless you are talking about the oem shocks with coils on them on a toyota.

Maybe they are the stock shocks - i don't know. There is a coil around each shock. The coil sits on a base. The base is on a shaft with threads on it that clearly screws up and down. I tried to post a pic, but as a newbie I guess that's not allowed.
As for the winch, this is my daily driver/snow vehicle, I'm working on my 89 toyo pickup as my off road toy.
Any ideas on how to lower the front via the coil over setup?

I have absolutely not experience with coils. But from what I've seen there is either a jam nut setup where you losen one away from the other then screw the nuts down to desired height and re jamb them. Or it may have a small set screw keeping it in place. Loosen that screw and do the same.
But then again I really can't be too sure without pics. It should be really simple. Maybe your overthinking or something. But you should definately be able to just fiddle and tinker with the coil and see how it works...

Take all the weight off of the front (Jack up the body), and screw the adjusters on the top (that the top of the spring pushes on) toward the top. Un-jack the body.
Or, unscrew the other side if the adjuster is on the bottom.
If the spring isn't sitting directly on what you're adjusting, that isn't the right adjusting point.
