Yes.....WAY to deep.

You could not even make blue lakes from 88 at this time of year.

what kind of snowmobile are you riding?:D


this time of year there can be 8-16 feet of snow at the Blue lakes end. Snowmobiles have a hard time finding the trail since it is up in the trees. it will be Memorial day at the earliest, sometimes as late as 4th of July before it is open

Figured. Just starting to poke around for a good place to do some snow wheeling with a small group in two-three weeks.

We've sort done the Nevada City Truckee stuff a few times. Thought something on Sosho would be a nice change.

Thoughts?

French Meadows/Duncan peak are perhaps? Granted the road in via China (wall?) might have the gate closed. No idea if you could get over the plow line going the other route via French Meadows.

There are a lot of options out there for snow wheeling without the crowds.
