: anyone want an offroad park in N. Florida?
bogginnut 07-05-2002, 06:53 PM I've gotten my foot in the door with the local politicians about the building of a park similar to Hollister Hills. It would be in Jacksonville, FL. I was told to get a petition started, and the more people from out of town willing to travel the better. Shows the local politicians that non local money would come to area merchants, and they eat that up. If you would be willing to pass a petition around to your wheelin buddies, let me know at bogginnut@msn.com and I will get a copy to you. Even if you really don't plan on visiting, your hel[p would be greatly appreciated by a ton of other fellow wheelers with no place to legaly ride. Thanks for your time. Sean Williams

bogginnut 07-08-2002, 04:11 PM I'm not sure if I got back to those that replied, I've been swamped with emails about this, but here is an update. I had a converastion with a WELL connected local businesswoman today, who knows both the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation. She is backing the idea and said she would set me up a meeting. After that, I'll know which direction to take this thing. I'll update when I have more info. Sean

2002 FX4 Ranger 11-09-2003, 06:14 AM Well, this is more action that we have had in a while. For some odd reason, FL has nothing for decent offroading.
A magazine editor contacted me a few weeks ago about OHV parks in FL and I explained to him that there was nothing and tried to explain about the few proposals we have had. He was doing a story on ORV parks in the state so maybe this will help us out.
bogginnut 11-09-2003, 08:44 AM If the magazine guy wants it, I'll give him all the info I have.
