Does anybody have any details of the GM axles used in Guardian tanks. I have found a pair for sale for $500AUS and they look super beefy but are 2.7m wide. If anybody knows anthing about these babies I can email you a photo. It appears that both axles are already setup for steering application. Is it possible to post a jpeg to the board from my hard drive, if so I will post a pic.

2.7m wide is 106.2989 inches wide. These are seriously wide! But can you imagine the beef in axles built for a tank with front and rear steer, just a thought at the moment but I am going to have a look at them!

The Gaurdian Tank must be more of a wheeled personell carrier? Aren't tanks tracked and use skid-steer, thus no steering axles? They basically sound like 5-tons or something.

I'm not sure if it's a tank or APC but they are real beefy axles. We have a plentifull supply of unimog axles as these are used by our army. I just got a good line on some parts suplus axles going to auction so I am going to go and have a look next week.

The Guardian is a lightly armored vehicle you see around at a lot of crowd control events and on Air Force bases.

Some of the old Dodge Ramcharger based light armored vehicles were called Guardians when I was in the Air Force, but I don't remember them having a very HD drivetrain for all the weight they carried.
