I like the threaded end of that pinion. Looks like you had to beat the hell out of it to get it out.. All its good for now is a club for baby seals.

The threads were already stipped, I went to replace the pinion oil seal when I first got the Scout, and the nut and pinion were stripped like they were cross threaded. I had already ordered a new R&P from IHOnly. Since it was good for nothing already, I used it as a drift punch to knock the diff out.
I see a lot of rags and paint thinner in your future. I used a lot of paper towels to get the ruff stuff out of mine. Carb cleaner works, but stinks like hell, so I save that until the end.

I'm going to dissasemble the carrier and make sure the clutches are ok, and possible replacement. I don't plan on skimping on this, so it's gonna get all new parts. I see some Degreaser and a midnight run to a car wash down the street too.

Next step is to buy the spreaders, pullers, and press next week. Also, finally found a trac-lock rebuild kit, through Just Differentials. I'll order that this coming paycheck also.
