I am planning to install a Tacoma 2.4 into a Samurai... But the wire harness is 3x the size it needs to be.

Is there an article somewhere on how to clean up the harness so that only the necessity's work. I just want it to run, without all the extra crap hooked up.

FYI: trail rig only.. So I don't have to worry about EPA crap

I downloaded some FSM's for the Tacoma, and thats a start.. but it would be great if there was an easier way without buying the $700-800 custom harness that I seen someone selling.

I just swapped a 3rz into my 85' runner I would recommend reusing the entire harness and choose what you want to hook up in the way of lights and climate control, There really doesnt seem to be alot of extra bulk attached to the harness, and for the engine to run properly you will need to connect the o2 sensors unless you run an aftermarket harness and ECU.

Thanks for the reply :D , thats what I may end up having to do. Unfortunately I am missing all of the switches for lights, climate control, and all the other switches... So I will have to run the Tacoma Harness, plus make a harness for all the other stuff, or come up with the stock toyota switches

UGG well just and FYI you need to jumper the hazard switch to make the blinkers work, check out the FSM that can be downloaded the link is in the FAQ that made my life alot easier, and there are several 3rz writeups on here that help too! I had to do quite a bit of cutting and spicing but it is worth it in the end.
