You ever get those great ideas that you think your the shit? Man did i have one last night... Start with one cool old tool box that would look very nice mounted in the back of the wheeler, add some sanding then spay with some left over paint... My thinking was hey i have this paint here that i have never used let me get rid of it... Well the color was Navy Blue Satin! Man that has to be the cutiest looking :rainbow: tool box i have ever seen! :barf: Well i guess down to Home Depot i go to buy some flat black... Damn what a waste of time!!!
Well now i want to hear some stories of your biggest waste of time, that pertains to your 4x4...

Easy.
Flopped XJ. Between buddies and I, spent 40 man-hours replacing hatch, 2 doors, and a fender, then sanding and spraying a wicked cool OD green.
2 runs later, smashed 2 windows, destroyed another door, snapped 2 axle shafts and shredded a detroit locker.
Decided this rig has got to go - I need a buggy.
A crying shame and the worst is - nobody buys a built rig - so I have to spend a lot of time stripping and parting itout :-(

Spent $500.00 on some 30" tires for my samurai 4 months ago now spending 1000.00 on tires and wheels for the same rig.
Just to keep the thread Technical I will discuss the mounting and unmounting of tires.
1. Break loose the all lug nuts prior to jacking up the vehile.
2. With the ebrake set and rear wheels blocked tranny in gear jack up the front end.
3. Take the lug nuts off and install the new tire.
4. Do the same to each side moving the wheel chalks as neccisary.

That is NOT how you take off the tires.
1. Use a quality jack and lift the rear of the vehicle under the pumkin.
2. Use your Snapon 1/2" drive air impact and remove the lug nuts.
3. move to the front. still only 1 jack needed (if lifting 1 end at a time)
Now I feel alot dumber by replying to this post.
