If I swap in a HP30 on a stock height TJ, will the front driveshaft have enough clearance from the exhaust manifold? I'm regearing/locking the front, but I won't be lifting it for a couple years and I'd hate to build a front axle twice if it doesnt fit under stock springs.

exhaust manifold or do you mean exaust PIPE:confused:
hard to believe it won't clear and even if it does hit, wouldn't it be ever so little? like some minor massaging to make it work? lots of guys have done this swap so lets see what they say, mind-you on a stock height TJ:smokin:

I've heard the pinion on the HP30 is something like 2.25 or 2.5 inches higher. And looking underneath, it looks like the DS being up that much higher could hit the manifold during LF wheel flex.
I'm sure it's fine with a 2-3" lift, but I'll be stock height for awhile and I'd like to regear/lock the front to match the rear axle. Eventually it will be 3" lift/SYE/33's/bellyup.

sure that sounds reasonable, 2-2.5" higher BUT right at the diff and will feather to no higher at the t-case, will that help any?
how about this, crawl under ther and run a string-line and see what you get:flipoff2:
