just made a purchase for the next build, the foundation is in the neighborhood
of a 2001 ranger with 08 ford f550 dana super sixtys frt and rear.
i work for a ford dealer and got these axles at cost so it made sense to use them, anybody out there used these yet? was just wondering if you were able to still use the auto hub ports after machining the knuckles for 44 arms
was hoping to be able to lock the frt and rear independantly from the cab
using the auto hub feature.

I have one in my garage right now :)
Those Auto hubs centrifugal (Pretty sure) and lock when power is driven to them from the axle shafts.
Whats on top of the C, looks like a just a breather for a the Unit bearing.

Better check again. They are vaccum operated. :rolleyes: The older full auto hubs were centrifugal, the new ones are Vac. with a manual over ride.

Your right!
I just looked, I can see the passage into the Unit bearing area (I don't have axle shafts for it.)
Good to know, I will tell the guy, to just weld up that hole then.

Just an FYI on those, I know of two trucks with broken ring gear teeth. Looks like Dana (or whoever mfg the gears)may have had a porosity issue. I would assume you are going to change ratio but just wanted to let ya know.
