Hi all.

I'm new, so if this has been posted/answered, forgive me...it didn't turn up in my search.

I have an 88 Bronco XLT, 5.0 302 AOW, bone stock.

Everything seems to be fine, but I have a coolant leak comming from w/i the radiator when the temperature outside drops to below 30 degrees or so. Other than that, it's fine.

I'm about to swap out the radiator for a new one, but I thought I'd run it by some people who know more than me for some advice.

P.S. All the hoses are good and tight.

Kind of common with the plastic end tank radiators. The tanks contract when it gets cold and the leak forms between the core and tank. When it warms up the tank expands and it stops leaking, a new radiator sounds like a good plan.

Two things that might help you. First, find out exactly where your shit is leaking. If its coming from the seam, take teh radiator out, use a pair of channel locks to gently re-crimp the seam where it is leaking from. Second, if you are too lazy to do that, or if that isnt your problem, put in two egg whites once every 2 months or so, that will/should stop your leak. Otherwise flush your cooling system, then replace your radiator.

You're right. I implied a question. I was wondering if anyone had any advice/knowledge about what was going on, since I have almost no clue. Additionally, I was wondering if anyone knows a fix OTHER than replacing the radiator.

Also, thank you, sceep, for being so nice, and not a jackass, by pointing out the subtly of my post. I'll be sure to ask directly for exactly what I want instead of expaining my problem under the thread title "88 Bronco XLT Coolant Leak Help", since what I wanted was so obscure.

Awesome, glad to see the rumor of "people being assholes on the internet for no reason" was just a myth. If you have nothing constructive to add, why bother posting?

On another note, thanks to those who are actually trying to help someone out with some pretty good advice. I am a newbie when it comes to fixing my BKO, so I am very much grateful for any help that can be offered.

uhm... pepper is a PROVEN method of fixing your coolant leak, just like adding an egg.

every vehicle we wheel with carrys a minimum of 8oz of pepper in thier trail repair bags. works like a charm for a rad. leak.

just because you dont like the suggestion, doesn;t mean it wont fix your problem.

quit being such an arrogant ass when asking for help. Oh wait.. we still dont know WTF you need help with...:shaking:

Appologies. I didn't know it was a legitimate fix. As I said before, I am new to the off-road culture.
