Anyone know the shaft diameter and spline count on a fine spline D44 pinion??

1.125 26 spline comes to mind but I'm at work and can't check. It's the same as a dana 20 or dana 300 output shaft if that helps.

Impossible, a D60 is 1.250" 29 spline... I would also have guessed 1.125" 26 spline on the D44.

Cool thanks, I'm actually looking for a 1310 1.125" 26 spline yoke... I just happened to have a D300 lay'in around that will soon be missing a yoke!

Just for the record, a D44 yoke is 1.146" major diameter, 1.142" minor diameter with 26 involute splines

Bill those numbers can't be right.

According to the Jeg's cotalog:
D44 is 1.376" - 26spline pinion stem
D60 is 1.626" - 29spline pinoin stem
Are they talking about a larger part of the shaft?

Bill those numbers can't be right.

Well, they're right out of the Dana/Spicer driveline catologue, and were the dimensions I used to source a new yoke that would fit on my XJ d44 that took the u-bolts instead of the straps.

You can check yourself at:

D44 yoke, dimensions are 1.146/1.142.

And the dimensions are shown here:

Then we must be talking about 2 different things. In the Mark Williams catalog the 44 is 1.376 and the 60 is 1.626 so one must be talking about where the large bearing goes and the other is where the small bearing goes.

Ah-ha...yes, that's probably it.

I'm not talking about the machined diameter where the bearings fit at all.

I'm talking about the dimensions of the actual splined part where the yoke fits - I thought the original question was regarding finding a yoke

Are you sure you don't mean 1.146" major by 1.042" minor. That's about what the one in my hand measures. Otherwise we get .004" of spline, which doesn't seem like it'll work.

Uhhh...sorry, The numbers I gave are the min and max tolerances for the major diameter, the minor is 1.0621 - 1.058.

So it's 1.146-1.142 major, and 1.0621-1.058 minor.

Sorry for confusion...good catch Eric
