Dumb asas question.

Can I fab my own chassis and still fit the class? or do I have to buy a premade chassis?

No it must be built by an approved vender. This is to keep the specs he same for all F-TOYS. You can get more info on the f-toy from the Hendrix motorsports website

I was reading that. Is there a vendor on the East coast. Shipping a chassis from Hendrix wouls be expensive.

PM 'mtbrjon'. He's an approved chassis vendor. IIRC, his chassis' are on temporary hold while he works through some details with his insurance, but get a hold of him so you're on the list when he starts fabbin' again.

He's in TN.

I don't think anyone questioned this more than me. In the end I was so glad I bought the chassis. There is so much other work to be done, and at the price Mike is charging for them, buying it is the best way to go.

I thought about it long and hard, too.

If you build your own, it's "just another tube buggy that somebody bent up in his backyard". If you go to resell it, it's worth 1/2 the price of the parts on it.

If you build an FToy, it's a real FToy, serial number and all. If you go to sell it, most of them have gone for at least $10k. Especially turnkey and ready to race.

from the reading it looks competitive and alot less expensive than the SM I've been building. I could retire the SM to trail duty and play with an F-Toy.
It's all just an idea right now.

looks like most of the 2 seater builds are from short cab trucks. Can a 2 seater be built on an 84 4 Runner?

You can build a 2 seater on an extra cab or long bed frame too. You just have to cut more off the ass end.

4runners are short wheel base like the reg. cab pickups.

If you build an Ftoy and hang stickies on it you can sell the Mod cuz you're not gonna want to wheel it again.:D:D

Chassis availability?: I'm working on a deal with Mike @ Hendrix now so stay tuned. This may get resolved quicker than I thought. Thanks to all those who have contacted me and are patiently waiting.:) It will be worth the wait.
