Got the 6:1's in today. Relieving the t-case took some  , oops, I meant courage. It wasn't tough. I did eat through one of the mounting holes for the long arm a little. I didn't hear anyone mention that, but it was necessary to get them gigantic gears stuffed in there.

They work great. They are sure noisy though compared to my GRSII's. Did any of you guys who have installed these notice any more gear noise than the previous t-case? I have a lot more gear noise, especially in low range. Wondering if I should worry, or just quit listening.

I didn't think it was too much louder, maybe a little. Others who have ridden in my Zuk said they could hear something, I wonder if I can't hear the frequency very well?

mine are a little noiser then before. I might add some lucas oil to the case and see if that helps.

Hey Tusker......Bite Me, you bastard!!!!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: I'm going to be hatin' life turning 33's with my 4.1 and stock gears. You going up to SOR Scwafish?

My set of 6.1's quieted down after a few miles. They're still a little noisier than stock, just because everything is turning so fast in there, but it's nothing objectionable. Heck, the stock t-case in my little baby daily-driver Samurai is noisier than the 6.1's in my big Samurai! Seriously.

Thanks for the replies guys. Mine are significantly louder, but they are still turning. Can't make up my mind whether it is a gear whine or a growl (like the gear barely touching the case). Anyway, I'll run them a couple of weeks, and if they don't quiet down, I'll rip her apart and take a peak.

Yes, scwafish can't wait to get that beast on the trail. I'll pick him up at the Sac Airport friday night, and then we will go into Spider in the dark and hookup with everyone. Hope to see you there. I haven't seen you in like three years, I wish we lived closer :D
