As far as the van it reminds me of the gey monster van from the 80's......:barf:

Could be. Maybe not.:D

I'm hoping that the Longfields will end my axle shaft issues once and for all. I warned him about my rig. Longfield is confident they will hold up for me as long as I don't go over a 47" tire.

I'm also working with a tire manufacturer on new tires that I hope will be THE tire too. I think we may see a new tire champ soon. Testing will bare that out.
I'm doing 9 days in Moab during EJS on these new tires.

There was nothing wrong with your old tires ! It only took about 15 plug fries to close up that gash , on the Ajax Mine run !

funny, i thought of the orange scout when i saw this one. that was one sweet scout. even non-IH sickos liked it. gotta love the FC that's entered too. don't know how it would do competition-wise, but have never seen one built to run.

-I will be running Retroteks BOSS efi system
-rear suspension is getting linked

-chev 205 is getting twin sticks from Northwest fab

Cheston is a good guy, I think he has a pretty good chance of doing well at TTC he is a really good driver. And to everyone who things he isn't a purist cause his trucks got a Ford motor to say the least it was an agonizing desicsion for him, It will always be IH no matter what he puts in it plus its a traveller I mean really how many of those have you even seen in real life.

I had every intention of driving through it but about 2 feet farther in....she started going over. I was there with 2 Suzuki sidekicks, neither of which could have pulled me out because I would have had to get dragged out on my side so I backed out of it and made a poseur shot. Im going to try it again once the rear is 4 linked. Im just not getting enough flex out of the leaf springs. Thats a fun trail!

No offense, but why do guys do a major rebuild right before the competition?

Shadow man
03-01-2008, 07:59 PM
Well, I see a line that didn't require a lot of flex. It appears you took these pics on Pritchett and Mini Moab? If your in Moab during EJS and the week after, look for an Orange Scout. I'll be there testing a NEW 42" tire for a Certain tire Manufacturer. I would like to test the tires against an Interco tire and we'll see if you have TTC skills too. :smokin:

The last pic is actually up in Idaho around Rexburg. There are plenty of lines to make it through that obstacle. Both Suzukis drove through it. Neither with the wheels 6' off the ground on one side though. There has only been one rig that has been through that obstacle with full width axles. Needless to say it went through dang near on its side. It drug the roof the whole way. I am planning on going to the Safari but I will be heading home Easter Sunday. I will keep an eye out for an Orange Scout. I will be staying in the Moab Valley RV park. Hope to see ya there!

If you are in fact talking about the pic with the lava rock in it. Only one truck on full size axles has been through it. He bent his frame. Its just a really tight squeeze. A stock YJ can make it through the squeeze part but a lifted YJ can't

Its a good obstacle

your pic doesnt have a 7' high wall on the opposite side that your climbing???

That obstacle in Idaho is a small canyon about 25' long and it gets narrower the farther you go in. I will try to find a better pic that shows the WHOLE thing...not just the first 5 feet

Drove through that one and others that are tighter. But since I can't wheel to save my Ass, It did get scraped up a little.. :homer:

Also that spot is tighter than it appears. I have NARROWED axles. 7-3/4" narrower.

44S? How about a 47"?:D

I don't know for sure. These tires were specially made for me to run at Moab and won't be out for a bit. I would think it would be at least another few months for the others. You know Bobby Long warranties his axle shafts for up to a 47' tire. 300m shafts :smokin:

I am so excited to be invited to go. Even if I dont get the chance to compete it will be once in a lifetime to even be there to watch and I should be able to run most of the events after everyone is done.

Maybe a couple people will flake but I doubt it this year. Fourwheeler will be posting the top 12 in a few days so check there to see whos in.
