: Rover fan diameters?

Sorry for the non-hardcore questions...

My 6BT pos used a 300TDI cooling fan up but it's slightly too big (read - it hits the exhaust). I think the diameter is 18 inches. The rover fan fits on the fan clutch and all the other dimensions are perfect. I need a Rover fan that has a slightly smaller diameter. I have seen the 11 blade fans from early RRs and I am wondering if they are any smaller, or of there is another application (rover) that has a smaller diameter fan but with the fan clutch bolt pattern used on the coiler trucks (series fans will not fit). I have had a look at most of the parts sites and no one lists dimensions. The truck is fine with no fan on the highway but in the bush when it gets worked hard it warms up a lot. I can cut down my old fan (too bad it doesn't fit in my lathe) but since it's a little schrapnelled it really should be replaced.

Ideas? NO electric fans, and worst case scenario I can reposition the fan idler pulley so the fan is away from harm.

A TD5 fan is about an inch bigger in Diameter to a Disco V8 fan and bolt in place of each other. Do you know the Diameter of a TD5 fan? I can try and measure tonight..

I don't have the TD5 dimensions, and I think the Disco V8 fan is the same or larger than my current 300TDI fan. The early RRs had an 11 blade fan that *looks*, based on the Atlantic British website photos, to be smaller. I still dunno. It might be easier to just reposition the idler (the Cummins uses an idler pulley to run the fan, the water pump is down lower and off to the side) but that means a different belt, and the 8 cog belt availability around the 67 inch mark is spotty (special order). I leave for a 600 km drive tomorrow morning :D

Keep in mind that the non-serpentine vs. serpentine fans have opposite pitch as they turn in opposite directions.

If I remember, I'll measure a couple tomorrow.
