: Get It!!

well I had a blast today.... as did others on this board..

S.N.O.R.T. had a little "Put-up or Shut-up" comp today... at a secret location in Eastern Washington... And there was quite a good turn out. Quite a few different clubs.

They set up a little "difficult" course, simple yet challenging (or insane if your not into comps.) Divided into 2-man teams, and ran one at a time, one man spotting for his/her team mate. Their times (speed comp) were then averaged.

Scoutilac put it on its lid (he was the only one to roll :D, sorry Kev, but it was spectacular!! ), Hooper DNF do to fuel delivery issues (we need to relocate his electric fuel pump and replace his main feed line, plus carbs suck!). So that left Scoutaholic and me.

Rick rocked... he appeared apprehensive, still unsure of his rig and pissed at his PITA rear links (he/we re-adjusted them at the site, and they were not necessarily cooperating), but that thing glued its self to the course and was surprisingly stable. He had a very good time.

Then I was last... My partner blazed the course (tube buggy), then I launched in. Made it (surprisingly well) up to the cliff face, gave it all she had.. then quickly threw the winch cable (timed event, and only a 1-min penalty for winching). Hauled my ass to the top, lined up for the chute down, crawled through the hairy section, and then slammed it into 2nd as I leaped off the ledge and shot down and down and out through the gates.... :D :D hee hee... lots of crowd roar!

Smacked my rear quarter a bit, popped the gas cap and knocked off the emblems :( , but I'm pretty sure I caught air at the start/finish line :)

I had one of the better times for the non-propose built buggies.. We ended up 5th, not bad.. not sure of the other placing yet cause we (me and Hoop) had to bail while they were calculating the scores but they were able to tell me that before I left.

Really like my Lincoln Lock :D , now I need an ARB for the front... and a full cage.

Hoop should have pics Sunday or Monday... and Rick has some killer video.... have to see if we can have it converted..

well, got to go bust out the body hammers and bondo.... :flipoff2:

well, alwasy got to put on a good show, after you and Pat made us look bad :flipodd2:

Wish I had made that climb, but I don't think anyone with out a front locker would make it, easily, expecailay with a clock running..

hee hee... Only things I broke were a couple of dents/scratches, popped off a left front shock tower (the front towers are only tack-welded on), and curled my rear crossmember/bumper up again....

Other than that, when to play on some other obsticals afterwards :D

So Kev, you get the gear oil and AFT out of all you extremities  :flipoff2:

jdjanda: :flipoff2: :D, an hour or so with a block of wood, the hammers and the stud puller, a scim of filler and a fresh coat of paint... and it will look as good (or bad) as new....

Show-n-Shine is in 2 weeks:flipoff2:

Saturday morning we left at 9:00am from Shoney's in Cookeville, TN after our meeting. We drove up to a place called Crab Orchard..famous for its rock quarries and the type of stones it produces....some of you may have it on your houses...anyway:

Had to drive 60 miles to the trail...gotta love the MT/R's on the interstate....the guys on bias's were getting beat to death. TAhe MT/R's go GREAT!!! Gotta love them and the size!!!

I had a really shitty trip.:mad3:

On the way up there I had to stop since I had neglected to replace the radiator cap after topping off....nice lady at the Shell market provided me with some extra water....had to put almost 4 gallons in the rad...I figure it was about empty...temp was still at 190.

Later once we get to the trail there are all these Jeeps and a couple of tube toys and a s-10 thingy on a blazer frame...purpose built rigs. Us four are the only ones to try this vertical gourge red clay wash out in the woods. All the Heeps took the alt
route....:rainbow:

So I take off up this ravine...pics to come....I am making it fine...straddle the hard part....MT/R's are like glue and clawing all the way.....then I drop into the gulley to cross since a tree ended my line...I come out of the gulley and...well fawk....no steering to the right....WTF??? I torque on the steering wheel...WTF??? No turning....ok must be lodged on something....spotter says back up...I do....no change....I try to turn....same shiat.... I gas it up and out of the gorge to the left...I come out and the fawnkin' stock front spring hanger is BROKEN....and resting on the steering arm...oh no wonder no steering.....I ask the spotter if he's blind...he says...OH didn't see that....no shiat you say...I get to looking...damn...broken powersteering belt too....and I have smacked the passenger rear cap on a root...so much for all show...but I do know this rhino lining guy..hmmmm.......

So we weld it up with batteries and off we go again....friggin key won't crank it so I hot wire it and go on....later on he back side of the mountain it breaks again and out comes the battery welder....I am really getting pissed at this point....got a weldernator laying on the bench back home just waiting to be installed....

Guy welds it back on and I limp home......the whole time my financee only says once....I told you not to try it....I tell her she needs to ride with the Heepers next time. :D

Oh well...guess I will be a wrenching biatch this weekend.

if its DIgital, get it to Neckster or Tommy, they will have ways of posting it.... I have no clue.

I WHAT TO SEE IT TOO!!!

you realise that me and my partner's combined times were one second LESS than your guys's... if you take away the 1-min winching penalty... imagin if I had made that climb.... Next year....
