Anyone know the schedule for this years event...what days will the group be camping where etc. I'm going to be joining in after the event starts and will need to play catch up.

I'm rollin' in Wednesday night(7th) and crashin' at Loon. Then run in Thursday morning. Friday We're(Dan and I) planning to run to the springs and up and out Saturday AM. I looking to get a few more to run to the springs,...You game???

I won't even be hitting the trail until late Friday, I will be in Colorado until noon, then I fly into Sac. at 630, pick up the zuk in Folsom and then get with it to Loon, turn on the lights and go to where ever the group is going to be Friday night.

The majority of people will be heading in on Thursday morning from Loon and camping at Spider on Thursday and Friday nights. Then usually we camp at the Springs on Saturday night and head out Sunday morning. I may be heading in early with a group of my buddies, but we might drive back out on Thursday morning to meet up with the group as they're on their way in.

Sounds good Geoff, is their any way to confirm where the group will be for sure Friday night, who actually organizes the event? If I only had to go to Spider that night that would be sweet!

Yes. I'm confirming that the majority of peole will be at Spider Lake on Friday night. I believe that's the night that Glenn Wakefield usually does the BBQ for everyone. If some people want to go elsewhere, they're free to do so, but the main event is at Spider.

Do you all think that my rig would make it threw the con. I was planning on being spoa w/ 32's by then but I won't have the money for shocks or mounts, so I'm just going to stay spua until sept. Anyway being spua, with rears upfront and Cj's in the rear, with missinglinks at both ends, GRS1, open diffs. Do you all think the little samurai would make it through. I have some new 30 by 9.50 tires on there.

Dude you'll be fine, just don't expect to follow "everyone". The Con is good for this there are bypasses for everthing.

Just make sure you have rocker gards

Cool, it would be my first time doing any "rock crawling" so judging by some of the stories and pics I've seen I would def. NOT want to follow everyone. Which do you all think is the better run suzi's on the rocks or the Calmini customer aprrec. run in sept.?

My first year through the Rubicon I was on 31" AT's, a rear locker, 2 inches of lift, and a bit of skidplating. My buddy Adam's first year through was on 235/75 AT's, a front locker, and lots of skidplating. We both made it just fine, but we did have to watch our clearance on the bigger rocks. You should be just fine. If you get hung up, there'll be tons of us there to help ya out.

I was alittle nervous about not having a locker. I had planned on buying one before hand, but I still haven't found a used grs 1 yet so it looks like I'm going to buy a new one. TT said they'd sell me a rebuilt grs1 for 625 or so.

TT is good folks and won't steer you wrong, but if you can swing it (gears ain't cheap and money don't grow on trees), get a GRS2. Take it from a guy who ate the entire elephant one bite at a time. I got a GRS1, then a GRS2, now a GRS3. Someone gave me the same advice a few years ago but I didn't listen (shut up scwafish!). In the end I could have saved a couple of grand going directly to where I needed to be.

I'll have to agree with tusker, My 4.1 case only has 7,000 miles on it and I want to go 5.8 or 6.1.:(

Not me, I when right for the GRSII in 97:flipoff2: before the Sumos came out:(

zukiman

I had the GRS2 for several years, until I broke it just a couple months before the Sumo gears came out. Dave (AAPA) told me to wait on getting a new T-case because he'd have the 6.1's soon. So I borrowed a 4.16 from Paul (Silver Bullet) until I got my Sumo gears. What a difference! Even compared to the GRS2, the 6.1's are way lower. Going from the 4.16's to the Sumo gears is like going from stock gears to the 4.16's.

As folks have said, there's no registration or 'sign-up'.

However..... I usually try and figure o9ut about how many folks will be making it so I can bring enough food for the BBQ. I usually send out messages to the boards and on email a week or so before the event. If you are plannig on going, please get back to me when I do post the messages and lemme know so we can be sure to pack enough food for Friday night's dinner.

Thanks!

Well here is the thing, I don't have a sammi but I would still like to hook up with you guys some time friday at spider. I have been asking tons of ?'s here latley and am getting ready to start my sammi/toy tube thingamagigger and want to get some insite on why you all like the sammi so much! So If you all don't mind a vehical that is to big and heavy hanging around let me know and I will head up friday. The nice thing about EB's is they hold tons of food and beer and crap. I need to check if the girlfriend is wanting to go or not, if not I will have a spare seat.

sounds great, I mean sh!t by the time you get it all built they are all the same thing just what you want it to look somthing like. Plus mine has been known to be a zuk toy truck ( brent @ trail tuff). So are most of you going all the way through or staying at spider then heading out loon on Sun.
