Toddy
DrVic723 02-15-2008, 04:31 PM Did you need the studded version or just the housings and studs seperate?
reckless 02-15-2008, 05:16 PM For $27.54, would I be getting the 2.63" joint with the stud already welded on?
DrVic723 02-15-2008, 05:43 PM The studded versions start at $46.54 for pirate members.
jeepfamily 02-15-2008, 10:13 PM whats the weldable width on the 3".................I have 1" 5/8" inside diameter of tube that I have been itching to use with maybe a inner sleeve of..............
DrVic723 02-16-2008, 07:45 AM 2.0", should work great!
rob92xj 02-16-2008, 01:44 PM What is the pirate 4x4 discount code? I'm looking to order some other stuff as well.

reckless 02-16-2008, 03:45 PM The studded versions start at $46.54 for pirate members.
,Oh well, I can get them cheaper localy
DrVic723 02-16-2008, 08:27 PM Get what? Johnny joints? Just know that these are in an entirely different class then the currie joints.
jeepfamily 02-16-2008, 08:34 PM damn I just checked the O.D of the tube and its 2 and 3/8"..........I am going to have to think about what to do.....
BTW ,I think these are far better than johnny joints and a great price
you guys carry a perch mount type bracket to fit the 3.0 joints into?...thinking about running in in the rear off the frame, with a shackle shooting down from it.....Not sure if you get my idea.....Basiclly an axle perch with a half cut 3.0 diam...
DrVic723 02-17-2008, 07:07 AM No, but that would be something that could be worked up quite easily..
DrVic723 02-17-2008, 07:09 AM damn I just checked the O.D of the tube and its 2 and 3/8"..........I am going to have to think about what to do.....
BTW ,I think these are far better than johnny joints and a great price
We have tube adapters for 2.25" OD tube, then use a threaded shank... Or you can do what we do and throw the tube in the mill and machine two flats 3/16" deep on either side of the tube, which is really the easiest way to cope them to 3" as well...
jeepfamily 02-17-2008, 09:35 AM about 2" long flat on the tube?I am going to have to call my buddy with a mill to see if he can handle it.:D thanks for the advice!!!!!!!
DrVic723 02-17-2008, 10:06 AM The flat only needs to be about .75" along the tube, but needs to be at least .250" deep (assuming you have sufficient wall thickness). Have him cope the tube to 3.0" while he has it all fixtured as well
quote please....a pair of 3.o flex joints shipped to 95832.Thanks.......

big specht 02-24-2008, 10:44 AM What is the degrees of misalignment that the smaller joints can handle compared to the 3.0 ones THANKS
i need 16 of the 3" joints. do you have the spanner tool for the 3"? i didnt see it on the site. Also i need a bunch of you link mounts. Can i get them in 3/8" plate the with 3" joint width and 3/4 holes for these joints? send me a pm, please.
DrVic723 02-24-2008, 02:05 PM Yes you can get all of those parts, but you will need to call for custom pricing.
We have 3" spanners, but do not have them listed because they are in tight supply right now.
I'll get back to you on misalignment, but both are very comparable to eachother.
WOBBLEWAGON 02-26-2008, 10:17 PM I just checked this out your site. You have a bunch of good stuff. Could I get a price for two of each with a total and what the tinsel strength is on this heim.

Ankeny_Jeeper 02-27-2008, 08:53 PM Can I weld the 2.63" joint to a 2-1/4" OD tube?
DrVic723 02-28-2008, 12:42 AM No,but I can post pics of how we use the 3.0" joints in house... but you'll need a mill. The housing is 2.0" wide on the 3.0" joint and only 1.875 on the 2.63" joints.
justin441 02-28-2008, 08:28 AM sent you a pm
Ankeny_Jeeper 02-28-2008, 12:25 PM So, with a 2.63 joint, direct weld to the tube, the maximum tube OD should be 1-1/2" without modifying the tube? thanks!
DrVic723 02-29-2008, 06:47 AM No, you could use 1.75" OD tube as well.
Ankeny_Jeeper 02-29-2008, 03:21 PM Just placed over $500.00 order, thanks!

mudforblood 03-06-2008, 08:21 AM I just ordered almost $800 of stuff last week including 8 of the new joints. Is there going to be a long wait for the joints?
Can't wait for my new toys to show up.:smokin:
DrVic723 03-07-2008, 07:27 AM I'll check on your order but ship times on joints are very good these days since we manufacture 100% of the joint in house. Your order may be held up be some other part though, but I'll check and see.
80yota 03-07-2008, 08:29 AM Just recieved my 16 2.63 joints, look good, but you may wanna think about threading for the retainer nut after the setscrew hole is tapped, mine have a nasty burr in them. My only complaint is my email I sent a day after I ordered, requesting you to add a spanner tool to my order, never got answered. And its not worth the shipping just for that. It is my fault for forgetting to order it with the joints, but i would expect a reply anyway.
big specht 03-07-2008, 08:42 AM I'll get back to you on misalignment, but both are very comparable to eachother.
Well what did you find out???

dabomb5756 03-18-2008, 01:49 PM What is the width of the 2.63 joint? I mean the width where the bolt goes through. Is it 2.63? or is that the width of the can?
I also need a perch style mount for the joint to sit in. Maybe with a 3 inch flat base. I want to use this as a mount for an anti-wrap bar. I will bolt a shackle to the joint, and the other end of the shackle will be a bushing at the end of the wrap bar which goes to the axle.
So i need pricing on the small joint, and a perch mount.
Thanks,
Neal.

DrVic723 12-10-2008, 09:24 AM No testing as of yet, we have a hard time investing in tests like that when the real use is nearly 100% dynamically loaded.

The Massive 3.0" rebuildable Ultra Duty BALLISTIC joint exclusively from Ballistic Fabrication is built to withstand extreme punishment. It's extra large 3/4" bore (bolt hole) is large enough to handle heavy torque, while the huge 3.0" diameter .320" wall housing accomodates over 25 degrees of misalignment both ways. The giant 2" ball distubutes the forces over a larger surface area and translates into a better ride and longer life as well as superior strength. The BALLISTIC joint features solid billet Nylatron GS races that won't deform under load and provides a smooth bearing surface for a noise free ride. Fully greasable and rebuildable. Sold individually.
Choose from a 7/8" 14 tpi, 1.0" 14 tpi. or 1.25 12 tpi stud available in both right or left hand thread.

The 2.63" mounting width perfectly matches most of our brackets intended to be used with our 2.63" Ballistic Joints.
Correct me if I am wrong but there 2.63 wide. I am sure the rep will chime in.
DrVic723 03-26-2009, 11:26 PM That is correct, both are 2.63". The 3.0" joints are 3.0" wide. Thanks - Jeff

PeglegJOE 10-18-2009, 07:17 PM I have a question and need some prices
MY question is. i know that people normally use a larger joint for the lower links. So would i need to use a 3" joint on the bottom and 2.63" on the top or would 2.63 work fine both ways???
So i need price for (4) 2.63" joints to 30277
also (2) 2.63" and (2) 3.0" joints to 30277
Thanks
