Okay, here's the question-

which kit do you think is stronger, for converting a 2wd 35 spline sm465 to a d300.

first off is novak: custom shaft, reduces to small diameter 23 spline input to slip directly into input of d300. The only problem I can forsee is the new mainshaft breaking at this smallest weakpoint. On the other hand, nv4500's have the exact same size output, correct?

Advance- chop off threaded section of mainshaft, and use it as input shaft (or at least I think that's how they said it goes, and they provide a new input gear that will fit the large 35 spline shaft.

any opinions about this?-- I'd appreciate hearing them.

Either way the splines on the input gear(in the case) for the D300 are 30 splines... it does not matter if it has a 35 spline input, the gear drives on 30
The other thing to consider is that the output shaft is 26 spline (unless you upgrade)... I guess it would depend on where you want the weak link to be..........

yah, I realize that BOTH the outputs are small... that will be dealt with later, I'm just curious about the kits. yes, the gear is 30 spline, but for the advance kit, i think the gear is changed for a 35 spline? or is it just a different input shaft? anyone know?

thanks!:roxy:
