hey guys, I just welded up my buddys powersteering on his 40
the problem is that he lost alot of his steering radious? he
has got a 4 turn saginaw from a early camero a 2inch drop
pitman from a yj and a advance adapter tierod. is it the
drop pitman? I would like your guys input it would help alot
it needs to be ready by next weekend for naches:D

I think what you need is a longer pitman arm, the longer the distance from eye to eye the more swing it has, so you get your turning radius back.

I think your right, I did the high steer on my 4runner and
it came with a new pitman but it was the same length as
the stock one. my buddys drop pitman is very short and
stubby which one should we get? it has a 4 inch lift thanks:D

Get 'em Matt, you are dead on. I suggest a Pitman arm from a Scout. It is long and relatively flat.

what year scout? and this wont give a bad angle on the tie rod
ends? :D with the 4 inch lift I think he needs some kind of
drop to prevent the angle and bump steer?

I *think* alot of guys use late model cherokee or grand cherokee pitmans, i think one has 2" drop and the other has 3", cant remember which though, do a search, i know it's been discussed.
