Vova......

That appears to be similar to a product that was in all the rags in the early 90's where you could ajust your caster with the bolt on tubes. I am not sure about the housing itself though :D

looks like a strange or a mark willams modular diff. i do a-lot of there 9 inch and 12 bolt setups i guess i never did any 60s like that because they are not that popular among the drag race crowd.

did anyone else think that ram couldve been mounted a little more horizontal to put less pressure on the diff??

as for changing your caster by the bolts, looks like there is only four a side? you'd need a heap more to get fine rotations, unless you just want to rotate it 45 degrees at a time?

im sick of checking this thread, looking for the answer someone tell me the POINT :flipoff2: :p :rasta:

Look closly, it's a shock, not a ram :rasta:

freaky.
I've seen that bolt-on tube design used before on Baja trucks.
that "looks" like a dana diff cover.
it's got kingpin knuckles.
and are those freaking thru-bolts for the bearing caps sticking out of the back of the housing?!?

Think about how a shock works.... more angle, more range of motion.

Does a shock or coilover with a 45 degree angle put anymore stress on its mounts than if it were vertical? No.

I would bet that the angle of the RAM makes it easier on the unit also.

Do you have a better answer, Mr. Wizard? Why else would EVERYONE mount their Rock Ram like that?

Physics hell that's grade school shit. It's not located there for reduced pressure on the mounting point or any kind of mechanical advantage. It's just where they felt like putting it. A better place would have been in line with the tie rod, but for a stabilizer I think they'll be OK:flipoff2:

Lets just say that compound angles create compound problems. Some stress can be changed but there is no free lunch.
