I figured someone would post some shit like this.
Sunray came in about 2K less on the axles than Dynatrac and they are local, so I can have things tweeked as I see fit.
Front axle was $3750 and the rear was $2450.
Sunray will install their Hydo assist steering for $495 (using my pump and box)
Tie rod reverse steering-$450
All welding/driveshafts/axle install-$1000
Roughly $8K
Ouch, but if you have ever owned Birfields, you will understand how excited I am.

From that I gather it's a 9" center section with 60 outers, or something like that?

Why did you choose to go with the 9"/60 instead of just a HP60?
wngrog 09-06-2001, 03:09 PM The Hybrid is Sunray's specialty. I have been wheeling with 4-5 rigs for 2 years that run them and they are really strong.
I like the fact that you can shave the pumpkin and that is has a bad ass pinion, but the real reason is that when I started this venture, I was going to bolt it into my spring under configuration and it would have been much easier.
If I had it to do over I probabably would have just done HP 60's F and R.
Hell, If I had to do it over I would have done Pick and Pull D-60's and Hummer wheels to narrow it and saved 4K
Oh well, I tend to leap before i look a lot on my Cruiser
RHINO 09-06-2001, 03:34 PM hey nolen did you get the springs ok? its nice to here from ppl sometimes ya know is that 9" hybrid a hi pinion? i want to raise my pinion but no one does it anymore, at least i cant seem to find anyone.
wngrog 09-06-2001, 03:49 PM Yep they are bing installed on my rig now. Funny, what you call junk, I call wonderful rust free FJ-55 springs form AZ.
I tried to email you but you have your email blocked on the Pirate page
The High Pinion 9" is junk, currie does not recommend them for rigs with over 35' tires.
Tom, the owner of Sunray is designing a real high pinion 9" with a real 9" ring gear.
Exciting stuff
i am only HP in the rear, my driveshaft is 40" in the front, no need!
Thanks for the springs!
Bill Collins 09-06-2001, 04:00 PM hey nolen,is the carnage in clayton in sept.or oct?thanks...
