I have a buddy doin a solid axle sawp on a 1996 Chevy 1500. He is putting a 14 bolt in the rear and then a Dodge dana 60 in the front. As yall probably know, the pumpkin is on the passenger side. What sort of transfer case should he run? I was thinking a np 205 out of a dodge but what will have to be done to get them to match up? Thanks alot... -Austin

the easiest would be a pass drop 241 with a vss. they were only a few years though, does he want the speedo to work and the trans to shift right?

If I had to do it again, just use any old passenger drop chevy with the correct spline count and bolt pattern. Put in a manual shift kit in the 4L60E and skip the speedo, that is if it is an auto. Unless u just have to have the speedo then do the 241 passenger drop with the VSS. Good luck

vehicle speed sensor, basically an electronic speedo instead of a cable one.

Why not make life easy and use a ford dana 60?
