: quick speed sensor question

OK. I've got a computer controled 4.0 and a YJ t-case. do I have to buy the hesco conversion speedo sensor thing or can I just plug in a TJ speedo and splice in the wires? I want to use electronic zj guages.Specs below...

98 4.0 from a Grand.

you need a speed senor that matches the MPI set up you have. the computer used the speedsenor to calculate theadvance curve.

All Chryslers use a 4,000 pulses per mile sensor. The one for the '96 and newer ZJ uses a 3 wire hall effect sensor. Since you don't need the speedo cable pass through on your sensor, I would just use a '96 XJ, ZJ, TJ sensor. p.s., Hesco's sensor is nothing more than a early Ram's sensor, which is a 2 wire analog sensor. Simply use a stock sensor for your application.

do you have a model and year for that sensor?
it's the last piece I need to push Hesco completely out of the 4.0L swapping buisness.
