I heard that the trails at altona or johnstown PA were sweet? is this true? also the guy who told me about them was from this board. BElly up or some thing? any body got any info that might help me??

You're right, that would be Belly-up...

As far as being sweet, I don't think so. Pretty mild actually. There's a little rock garden area there, but other than that it's mostly powerline stuff. At the last Toys-for-tots run, alot of the trail was closed off :(

I've been to Altoona 1 time. The guy at was " the owner " lived next to the Auto Zone. He drove an older red Land Rover. When I was there it had snowed and everything was icy. So we didn't get to see everything we would have liked to. He had a web site www.centralpaoffroadpark.com but it hasn't worked for over a year. Maybe do a search of that name and you can find out more info. I think his name was Dave Walls ? not positive though.

I too was out there about two years ago. Dave seemed like a pretty cool guy. He was telling me and my buddy that he was going threw a rough divorce and "the bitch" (in reffeerence to the ex) was taking him for everything. Took his pathfinder, house, lots of probs. Soon after the park closed. It was rumored to only be closed "officially" but still open, but that moved to totally closed.

OK, let me tell you about Dave Walls. He's a pathological liar, and crazy.

We cut trails in Altoona 4 years ago, most of which were awesome. Then, Dave decided to open an offroad park. Him and a bunch of locals cut lots of trails. We went on a trail ride up there, smoked all the trails that were supposedly "impossible", now we are no longer invited.

PS I think he's badassjeepguy's best friend. :D

Let me add this. It's very unfortunate, cause there is ALOT of potential there. I think you could cut trails there that would put most offroad parks to shame.
