Hi All,
my truck wont start on its own......Battery voltage reads 11.7.
When I try to start it, it just clicks the relay, voltage drops to about 9.5 while turning it over, then only goes back to about 10.5-11.0 volts........

If I jump the battery, it'll start right up without having to let it charge up at all.
Once its running, voltage goes back up to 14.4.

Sounds like the battery, huh?
Just wanted to get some other opinions before I go drop money on a new battery.......

A Yes coming from an individual that has repaired about 50 charging systems on all makes of cars.

check the water level in your battery before you go buy a new one. If it is low you will hve the same problem. also take it to a good auto parts store and have it tested before replacement. The bettery could be good but have something drawing it down. If it were showing 8 volts or less I would be inclined to agree with ZUK but with 11.7 i would check for a draw.
