: Some pics' of my friends Jeep Wheelin' Pa. style
justmyluck 09-04-2001, 06:50 PM Hes havin' trouble with the puter' tonight. So, this is a favor...
This is a set we call OH SHIT! Its probably a 80ft.climb to the top.. We had a lot of carnage that day. 1)a unimog couldn't make it up the first ledge and proceeded to slide sideways and get stuck. He had to be winched and winched to get out.2)Abuilt jeep bent his tierod in half and had to be fixed, he did climb to the top with not much fuss. 3) My toys front shaft kept fallin out ..too much travel and still the stock shaft..
It was a blast and a long day!

Skitzo 09-05-2001, 01:00 AM nice jeeps! is that the toughest terrain you have out there?
Qbert 09-05-2001, 09:18 AM I grew up in Phily till I was 15 then moved to Miami.
JasonTJ 09-05-2001, 10:01 AM Thats' gotta be paragon.
check it out at www.paragonap.com (http://www.paragonap.com)
erikrs301 09-06-2001, 08:00 AM That's gotta be Paragon, those rocks look too familar. Maybe someday my little rig will be able to play with the big boys up there on 'M', 'Rattler', and the rest.
justmyluck 09-06-2001, 09:57 PM NOPE it ain't Paragon! It's a local spot in Archbald, Pa. (just outside Scranton,Pa.)
No that ain't the hardest stuff, this rates around a 7/8 out of 10 scale.
Lets see it ain't my Jeep but,
I know this:
318 Crysler
Dana300 tc(i think)
dana 30 in front and hes never broken it and he been thru undertker at paragon numerous times
9" ford out back
lockrites front and rear
been on his side once
We'll be at Paragon at the end of Sept. for the 3 day Pocono trail Fest.
Anybody comin to that???
tom
justmyluck 09-06-2001, 10:01 PM One thing I found out about digital pics' of wheelin'.. they just don't do the diffculty of the terrain any justice.
The pic where you can see the belly of the jeep is a 4' ledge that has to be hit just right or you ain't gettin' up. Just ask the guy in the unimog.

Kensoffroad 09-06-2001, 10:03 PM Nice rigs & nice pics!

Tom,
I'll be up for the Trailfest at the end of next month and hopefully I won't .
I'll be in a green TJ with an orange CJ7 tailgate and a North Carolina tag. I'm gonna try and run Whampum and Rattler that weekend. I'm going to be staying at the Forest Hill Inn, and I should be getting there sometime in the evening of the 27th.

Marty, we're all staying at the Red Ridge Campground. We are planning on pulling in on Thurs. night.
Are you coming up with a group? if not your welcome to hook up with us. We have capable rigs consisting mostly of Jeeps and Toys. Some of the group have been to Paragon, (I haven't) by the end of the run I'm hoping to get on Undertaker. I understand they have a new trail called Pebbles and Bam Bam and its only been completed by a few rigs.
Hope to see ya there and have a safe trip up to Pa.!!
thanx tom
Jim M 09-07-2001, 09:04 PM Pebbles and Bam-Bam is cool, but for real fun ask to run Valley of the Dogs. It's a new trail that is all but stupid. No pics, but they wouldn't look like much in 2-D anyway. Also make sure to take a trip up the new M extension. It's just a short hill climb, very doable, but a fun little quickie to run.

We're planning on the M trail for Friday for starters, I've never been to Paragon and from what I've been told it's(the M trail) "ALOT" of off chamber stuff. I'll have to see what my group wants to do on Sat.,hopefully we'll get to do undertaker on sunday.
heres a pic of my ride(ya I know its not a jeep but, it'll wheel with the best of them)

Jim M 09-08-2001, 05:19 AM There is definately plenty of off camber on M. Undertaker is also a lot of fun. Nice looking rig, you should have a blast on those trails. From the looks of your pics you'll be used to the rocks there. Good luck taking pictures that look as challenging as the terrain really is.
If you want to see some pictures of the trails, go to Paragon's web site (http://www.paragonap.com). Then go to the map, the link is on the bottom of the screen, then go to the trail map, link on the top left. Once at the map, click on the trail name and some pictures of each trail are there. Bear in mind these picutres are are meant to attract a certain crowd to the park and do not show most of the hard core stuff. It still gives a little idea of what the park is like. Mild to wild they have it all.
