Does anyone in the sacto area have an extra pair of 15x10 8 lug wheels.
My 14 bolt, is complete, so Id like to install and get the springs dialed in, build the wrap bar, and get the rear drive shaft, dimensions to Jesse. Problem is, I screwed around and didnt get my beadlock order to Big Feck soon enough, so I wont get my beadlocks untill late next week.
If anyones got an extra pair I would sure appreciate if I could borrow em for a few days.
Thanks <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

The axle is out of a cab and chasis Chevy dually so it was already, at 64", which is right where I wanted it.
I shaved over an inch off the bottom, but I plan on cutting the bottom out and turning down the ring gear, when I dont have a competition looming weeks away.
I removed the massive 200lb drum brakes, ground away the welds on the drum brake mounts, to use as the mounts for discs, which I made from 3/8 steel, (patterned from an aftermarket bracket). Moved the spring perches to the angle I needed. Had Gearman set up the 4.56 and detroit, and now its ready. A real simple swap.

It sure is a strong set up, and it doesnt cost a kings ransom.
You can find the axles for $200-$300.
The brakes cost about $200, using new rotors and loaded calipers from Napa, and some 3/8 steel for brackets.
The Detroit for a 14 bolt is only $300, a $200 for gears, and $200 for a set up kit and new bearings.
Im into the axle for about $1200.

I'm getting ready to build my 14 Bolt I'm getting parts now. Are those GM calipers with 3/4 ton chevy rotors? If not tell me what year/make and I'll snag me some. Did you have to "lathe" out the center for the hub....

I used 1980 3/4 ton Chevy, front hubs and rotors. No machine work is required. Just knock the studs out and remove the drums, put the rotor on and press the studs back on.
Build a set of caliper brackets, weld them wherever you decide on, for the placement of the calipers.
I do most fo my fabbrication in the parking lot of my apartment, so if it takes a lathe, its out of my league. This is simply a grinder and welder fabrication, kinda swap(I did rent a plasma cutter to fab the caliper brackets and a bunch of other brackets for suspension, a couple of weeks ago) .

H8monday, you wouldnt happen to have a traced pattern of your bracket do you? I am doing the disk swap on my 14b in the next few weeks and it would be helpful. If you do can you send me an e-mail thanks.

Ill trace it and fax it to you, if you have access to a fax machine.
I can trace it this afternoon, before I return the original bracket to Grady. gimme a fax number and I'll send it to you tomorrow.

H8 I wish I knew you were looking for a 14 bolt. I have a 63" 14 with 4.56's and an open carrier sitting in my garage. Oh well I'll just save it for mine. :)
