Normally this is not nearly worthy of even being posted on pirate. However, two things happened that had no possible way of ever happening.

1st, I was using .450 wall Chromo links. It is well established that this is insane monkey crazy overkill and could never-ever bend. .250 wall chromo is where I should have been.

2nd, I managed to bend these and not sheer or crack them since my surface heat treat was far too hard. There must be a crack somewhere that I just don't see. There is just no way this could ever happen.

I wonder how many of you guys will get this.

and yet there it is...
How did it happen? Hopping a wheel, maybe a hit to the arm while under heavy load? Just guessing, gotta tell the story.

Im guessing it was the curb at the drive thru. If you arent paying attention its easy to bump the curb.

OK, I guess my plans to make a pair out of 1-3/4 X .120 aren't gonna be heavy enough...

I call BS. I calculated the bending stresses necessary and my scientific calculator blew up. I call BS, you were using a fisheye lens...

Funnay!!

Your flux capacitor is broken, most cutlery is highly magnetic and there's been none collected yet.:D

I think its age related. With shafts that long, the older they are the harder it is to keep them straight. Perhaps driving just isn't as exciting as it used to be :flipoff2:

everyone probably gets it, you whine about it constantly.

i'm impressed that you bent that link, no doubt about that, but in all honestly i wouldn't care if your rig bent in half and caught on fire. although i'd certainly want to see pics.

maybe it's time to try some 2" solid 7075 T6 links.

I will take a pair of 5.99 ratio C303 axles (one front one rear) in trade for some danas.

Thats the best part, I have no idea. We were out running with Carey while she was prepping for KOH. We were getting it pretty good up Sledge (fast). I got home and found this. :D

i'm impressed. i would've said you would have had to drop the entire vehicle from 10 feet onto that link to bend it.
