JR, Turn the speakers up! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LubHrzKJYEw)

Trent Fab (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amxzbmQZ6mA)

Drew B in the Poly Performance "Coolest Jeep Ever" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQlKZD6kIW0)

Coincidentally Drew finished the race, even though he had a dana 44. In truth the 60 broke. I guess Lance needs to research axles more before the next episode of Pirate TV.:flipoff2::laughing::p

Frank,

Right on for posting the video. It's good to see Drew pushing that rig as hard as he does!

I'm bummed I could not make it, just too many irons in the fire & not enough cash & time to address them all.

Did Drew break his rear 60? I'm a bit confused by your post.

It was a fun time. We were up to about 7th on course early on. Drew had a ujoint strap failure on Jack and lost about 4 places. When he got to pit three I checked the straps and noticed he had dented and cracked the center of his d60. It was dripping like mad. We put some fluid in and sent him bombing across the desert for the finish.

Here is a video where you can see the fluid coming out at the finish line.

Wow, good thing he trussed the crap out of that diff! I bet it would have split in two if he had not put all that time into it.

I think the Randy Ellis rig would be good for this type of race. Maybe I will put it back together someday. :D

The XJ broke a rear driveshaft on lower Jack, and they were going around/over him. The XJ finished 6th or 7th with over an hour down time from the broken shaft and air lines.

I checked the original and you are correct. I have fixed it, but it takes a while for YouTube to update.

Thanks for the vids...

I love the commentary on Becca coming through the checkpoint! That's why we put a 9" tall number in the front windshield right below Becca with a contrasting background. They said in the driver's meeting that each checkpoint would operate on their own methods they deemed safe and effective but that each checkpoint had the option to pass people on as they were able to read the numbers, not just recognise the vehicle. It only worked to our advantage once, but saved us at least 10 seconds so we could waste it elsewhere!

Actually, the real reason they let us pass so fast is the Russell decal on the grill. Kinda like a "get outta jail free" card. :dustin:

Yeah, I heard that when I got home and I was like "shut up next time" I thought you'd like to see the video so up it went. There were a few F-toy video's that did not and will not make the cut...Cause they make me look like a total ass.

FWIW when Drew came through one guy said go and one said stop, hence the spastic stop and almost dropping of the camera.

Story about the booby trap....

My son ewatches D2G at least once a week.
He and a freind walked up with a folding GI shovel at about 5:00pm Thursday afternoon, and told me this.

" Dad why have we not seen booby traps, its not desert racing unless some one builds a booby trap, can we build a booby trap?

Me looking at the small shovel and two 11 year old boys thought how much can they do? I asked my son to dig holes for his moms plants last summer and they where 6 inches deep.

Imagine my surprise the next morning.:D

look out for Cody in about 6 years, he'll be giving Cambell a run.

Any idea why I can't embed video in the desert forum. It works in general and testing but not here?

is drew running bypasses on the rear in addition to the c/o?

Beat95YJ
02-25-2008, 09:36 PM
In the front he is running a SAW 2.5 Piggyback c/o and a 4" stroke 2" SAW airbump.

In the rear he has a 2.5 SAW bypass, A 2.0" monotube (not emulsion) c/o and a 4" stroke 2" SAW airbump.

Camo,

Any idea why I can't embed video in the desert forum. It works in general and testing but not here?

Its because HTML code is turned off in desert and on in general and testing. Not sure why Lance has it set up this way. Look at the lower left corner of each page in the "Posting Rules" box and you'll see how each forum is set up.
