MY buddy just picked up a 61 Scut 80 with the four cylinder the 152 I think...anyway it has a holley one barrel on it that the float keeps sticking making it run like crap.....is there another carb that we could put on it, maybe a two barrel? He just wants to get it running so we can start working on it. thanks in advance

The 1904 Holleys are pieces of junk, but if you rebuild it, take your time and clean out every single passageway with carb cleaner and compressed air (20psi) it'll end up running pretty good. Those carbs are very susceptible to dirt so make sure you have a new fuel filter too.
There's my contribution to the hard core tech. :D

I HAD A 67 THAT NEEDED A CARB SO I USED A HOLLEY 1920 FROM A SLANT 6 CHRYSLER.. IT WORKED GOOD BUT I HAD TO FAB SOME LINKAGE..
I ASSUME THE LATER 1945 CARB SHOULD WORK TOO.. THE FLOAT IS SIDEWAYS ON THE 1920.. THE 1945 HAS 2 FLOATS THAT RUN FRONT TO BACK AND USE ONE NEEDLE AND SEAT, I DONT KNOW HOW THAT WILL AFFECT OFF CAMBER SITUATIONS??? A SLANT 6 CARB SHOULD BE A LOT EASIER TO FIND THAN AN OLD SCOUT PIECE..:smokin:

IT'S A SCOUT, WEAR IT OUT AND ADAPT FROM SOMETHING ELSE TO WORK.
OR GO TO AUTOZONE AND GET A REBUILD KIT.

Go with a weber 32/36 and a 2bbl to 1bbl adapter. Stovebolt Engine Co http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/acartpro/product.asp?productid=91
has one. I was running this setup before my engine swap and it was definately worth it. You can even mount the carb 90* so it wont flood on hillclimbs. This also makes hooking up the linkage a lot easier.
