But when you use the ram to adjust the height you will be riding on the ram, right? So not actually sprung when you change it just sitting on ram shaft. Might be neat to get in and out of like Rovers, but not practical for use while moving. That's what is on the newer Range Rovers and Discos. However, this won't be able to lift a tire, only push down. Of course, you can lift a tire if you max out the flex, but that's not what we're looking for here. I wish I could have said I thought it up but I stole it from someone else. Always was a bummer using the highlift to swap a tire. Usually you gotta jack the thing up so high it get's wobbley. I used to throw a chain around the axle and the frame this helped keep the suspension from droping out and you didn't need to jack so high BUT THEN..... Here's the deal My wifes rig has OBA (york) what I did was grind down the end of a socket extension it fits nicely in the knob on the stock TJ bottle jack. Then hook it up to the impact and wala poor mans floor jack. sometimes fiding a flatish place is a pain but most time it can be overcome with a rock or two. At idle it usually takes 2 cycles of the 2 gal tank filling up to get the thing off the ground. It's way nice no straining to jack things up anymore and it adds a nice wow factor to your set of trail tools. | |
