:evil:Whats up guys i got a 4l60e tranny that is in a 1996 gmc 2wheel drive truck. so meaning it is a 2wheel drive frame. the running geare is a s.a.s with dana 44 hp and 14 bolt rear. keep in mind that it is a single cab shortbed if that matters.

*first things buy truck with no front drive shaft. drive truck for 1 year w/wheeling it hard no problems.

*finaly get drive shaft in front w/a cv joint up at the tcase. go to pismo one hard hit snapps the tranny right ware the TC and tranny bolt up. this is also were the tranny crossmember mount is.

*remove front driveshaft thinking that it is to long and it shoved everything back. buy new tranny brand new!! no blackbox!!

*now drive truck for 1 more year noproblemo. now i fix the driveshaft with a longer slipp and wheel it for a year so going on 2 years no problem pull front drive shaft out for a softer ride on the street and then it breaks w/ no front driveshaft while going over railroad tracks at 45mph.

* now im pissed my truck has been sitting for about two years now and i want to fix it so last week i got a new tranny 3rd one install goes good all new mounts new motor and tranny beendriving for a week live in bayarea and have drivin it to shasta county and all a round town no front driveshaft still then just this past sat 23rd same break same spot same thing this time just driving at speeds of 45mph what kind a crap is this.

* pics will be up tommarow of the breaks and truck setup*

*frustrated and losing hope no one can give me an answer hopfully someone here can thanks.*

Where do you have the transfer case mount on? Is it on the adaptor or the trans (assuming you have an old model trans case). Basically you need better support/crossmember it sounds like. Need pics.

Yup, sounds like your tcase is not braced enough.

Check your pinion angle as well-and your rear ubolts/axle to make sure its not rotating; these will cause your driveshaft to bind and usually your tailshaft will shear off. Also-check you motor mounts, tranmsission mounts and Tcase as mentioned.

Are you using cheap ass hardware to bolt your tcase and trans together?
