Sorry guys, but I did'nt really have time to get out and take poser pics this weekend. But I can tell ya this much, the 1/4 eliptic rear suspension fully worked with no problems. Here's what I found: very improved articulation on extreme parts of the trail such as little sluice. I just steered, and the cruiser crawled right awn through. So I was happy with that!

The only 2 things I did'nt like about the suspension was side hillin' and turning into steep steps on the slabs near Buck Island. It did'nt feel very safe! And then there's this one prety good climb (winch hill) or (mother fucker hill) which ever you prefer, in which I almost every time for the past 10 years or so climb right up (until this weeked) in which both attempts I was denied at the very top. One of the attempts I almost rolled side ways back down it cause my front end slide sideways. I think the front end was getting light because the rear end was sucking up all the traction.

All in all I was prety happy with its performance other than the freaking high pressure power steering line that blew out at the top of middle sluice.

Not at all, it was just that one spot where it seemed to struggle. There were several other tuff stair step climbs that could have given me trouble in the past, but now just walks. For instance, there's a very tuff little section on the Rubicon called the soup bowl, it walked right up it. In fact the rear steer seems to help alot at times.

I don't regret doing it at all, I just regret taking so long to get it dialed in. I still need to change my front springs, then it will be that much better.

i wanna do some sort of 4 link, so im keenly awaiting pics

what i worry anout is that with all your experience, and help and it still took you ages to dial it all in

i dont have a chance!!! people i talk to are all like.....4 link?
WHASSAMEAN???
SOA?? you on drugs

then i try and explain and they go, soooooo....you wanna swap coils in hey :mad2: :mad3:

so i show them pics and they go........thats, mighty weird lookin' :rasta:

so what "dialing in" was necessary?
what are you doing to the front? (softer/harder/longer) springs?
and are your rear springs just junkyard or custom? if custom what specs? if junkyard, what truck?

how were your links....any real dialing in necessary of these components, or just get them long and horizontal? and get them clear of the rocks? with your uppper links, why that setup? and with your shocks in so close to the centre does it get body roll when you try and get up some speed across level ground?
obviously it drove nice, so i wont have any problems on the street!!!

Jeff... what did you finally end up with in terms of limiting straps?

I got my strap from Grady's Extreme 4wheel drive here in Sac, but you can order them from a a bunch of different shops. I had mine made at 16" eye to eye.
