The magwell can be a bitch. Drill out the corners with the smallest drill bit you can find and you will still be finishing them with a broach or a file unless you have an EDM. The rest of it is gravy if you have a mill. There are a few guys on gunco who have finished them with nothing but a drill press and files, so it can be done, its just how nice of a finished product you are going for. cncguns.com sells a fixture to hold the lower for machining and its also a template for all the side holes and the mag release slot.

If you want to do a .50 BMG, you can skip the magwell and mag catch because they are useless.
