Ok..so yesterday I got tired of hunting for the th350/np205 stuff, and right after school I went to the parts store and bought a new pilot bushing...(drivin sticks funner anyway :D ) anyway I got the clutch and Sm465 back in, but im having troubles getting the t-case up to get the bolts in it. It keeps sliding off the jack ..any tips or little tricks? Any input is much appreciated..thanks..

I run a strap around mine, just to keep it on the jack. I also have two bolts that I've cut the head off to help lining things up. I thread them into the xfer, one on both sides. Once the case is up and close to the adapter, I can jimmy the case it the right postion and push it forward. It also helps to have the case in gear so you know when the splines are engaged.

the np203 is the worst one to do in the driveway.
ive always used two long floor jacks and had someone operate the jacks while i guided it in, and even that was a mother

The hardest part when putting the 2 together like you want to is not damaging the seal in the end of the adaptor. So line up the studs---or get some long enough so that the studs line up on the holes b4 the shaft goes thru the seal, and push it straight in.

getting a 203 up, in the driveway, is a serious pain in the ass. i couldn't get it balanced on a jack well enough so i wrapped a strap around it and fed it up through the tranny tunnel. my dad got in the cab and took most of the weight off so me and a buddy could mate it up fairly easily. good luck

If I am doing it by myself, I put the tranny and transfer together on the ground, then pick up on the crossmember.

What I used to do before I bought the Harbor Freight Tranny Jack attachment for a floorjack is clamp 4 large pairs of vise grips on the floor jack round lift cup. You can adjust them to hold the case in place. As soon as it is up I run motorcycle tie down straps under it til it is bolted on and I also use pilot studs for sliding it onto the adapter.

I always use the "use knees to lift t-case, struggle like hell to get it in, blow out an arm holding it up while you start bolts with the other hand" method.
Works ok!
Now, if I'm really into a build, the floor cover will be all torn apart anyway and then I use the ratchet strap around a 2x4 across the hole method, as outlined above. :D
