Below is a bad pic of a part I don’t know what it is. The Dash and wiring harness were taken apart by previous owner, now I’m parting every thing back together. But What is this hanging down with a white wire (has a black line on it) and the other side is dual reds? It's on a 77 CJ, the blue I know.

What part of the CJ is this from? Gas tank area?

Anyone?

The wires are probably for the factory tac and the metal thing looks to be a heat shield type thing that protects the tank from the exhaust pipe.

does yours have a windshield wipers sprayer maybe it is for that.

The lower thing's a radiator piece It connects the radiator to the grill.

i'll see if I can figure out the other. I didn't have a flashlight to check the CJ's here.

wiring could be headlamp dimmer switch--thus 2 red wires
bracket--radiator side support bar/mount

My 81 CJ has a blue wire with a black stripe paired with some other color wire (black?) that goes to the 'courtesy' lamps that are just under the dash near the door openings.

Steve, if you could look I would appreciate it highly!

bracket--radiator side support bar/mount The dimmer switch is in the regular light switch, which is it’s own huge plug. Thanks though! Your dead on with the bracket! THanks

I missed the 77 model year part.

Here's a pic of the courtesy light and plugs.

How about a voltmeter?
red->red means it should be pos. and continue on to something else.

Looks like it is to the right of your steering colum. So that should be some sort of indication.

In my experience after 20+ years ANYTHING is possible/changed.

Good Luck.

My '79 has a connector like that except only 1 red. It is not hooked up to anything. Same goes for the 1 next to it w/ 2 blues & another w/ 2 yellows.

It's not the courtesy lamp. I can't see under Michelles dash... A/C. I'll look in the back yard I've got a few back there too.

I guessing the 2 blues are the plug used for a Automatic, in a mannual it has a "jumper" installed so it just hangs. They yellow "may" be the the throttle sensor.

Thanks for the Pic Mo

gnrrpreacher, I'm hoping someone knows. Plus it;s not often you stump this board so I'm waiting on the answer.

Thanks for looking Steve, I'll wait on your report. :)

The yellow "is" the throttle sensor.
Both are not needed depending on your CJ options.

I think the connector is for the Tack, only other thing left is the clock.
