There used to be a great place just west of town near Sand Springs next to Chandler Park (between 21st and 41st streets. Private property now and most of it has been bulldozed flat to make way for construction. There was also some private property southwest of the city near Sapulpa that was privately owned by a guy named "Stewart". Great guy! I don't know however if he still allows people to wheel there. Only established trails are as stated before...Clayton down in the southeast corner and Disney up in the northeast corner of the state. There is also Little Sahara State Park northwest of Oklahoma City that's all dunes.

I don't know about anything in Disney other than the rocks under the dam. And my ride is basically stock, so I don't know how well it'd do.

I wonder if the guy near to sapulpa is still letting people wheel... How would I go about that I wonder.

Little Sahara would be awesome, but its about 3.25 hours away... :-/

Disney has trails too surrounding the rocky river bed. There is alot you could do in a reasonably stock vehicle. Ifn you want to go local I would suggest looking up one of the local clubs (Tulsa 4 Wheelers in which I used to be President of for a few years, Extreme 4 Wheelers and I'm sure there are other by now.) You might also look up the local 4x4 shops (Harmon 4 Wheel Drive on North Lewis ave., Sam's Offroad in Sand Springs and Youngs 4x4 on the northeast side of Tulsa.) Any of these should be able to give you current local info on where to go.

Hey i live just outside of muskogee, and there is a great place called the orv park near braggs in camp gruber its a great place too wheel for stock or modified rigs, no cost too get in and you can drive too all the major stuff in a stock rig and watch bigger rigs climb and also do alot of climbing in a stocker. its about an hr or less from tulsa it takes me about 30 min too get too tulsa and about 10 or 15 too orv from here,
Also we are haveing a run in disney march 15th and 16th its long johns 8th annual big meat run, there is going too be a big raffle sat night, its a open run raffle signup starts and 8 at hogans and the drivers meeting at 9 in the rock garden just below the dam, then its a free for all, no guided trail runs just go play and come back prob around 5 or 6 that evening and see what you win in the drawing.

We have a few places to wheel in and around Tulsa - Check out a few of the local clubs like mentioned above - or here are a few local sites most of us frequent...we have runs all the time - most spur of the moment or a few weeks out - some planned etc..

www.oklahomaoffroaders.com
www.tulsaoffroad.com
www.outdooradventuregroup.org

all of those do a lot of stock type runs and moderate to hard core ... Keystone white water park opens March 15th and is a great place to have a little fun in the sand with a stock jeep - just air down a bit and go for it - Check out a few of the above sites and you'll find us out and about all over the place!

There are a few spots near Tulsa, like those mentioned that can be fun. Chandler area is alot of fun, and offers mild to wild. Spot slipscomb mentioned is just a few miles from my house and can be some fun as well.

Man, Slilscomb, Freaky and Tolly pretty much nailed it. Most of the areas in the imediate Tulsa area are more of a "Take your chances" kind of places. They are all private property and are have questionable legality.

But, for 100% legal areas in the Tulsa area, you could go down to White Water park just at the base of the Keystone Dam. Its small, but decent place for a stocker. Or you can run up to Disney and there is something for every rig and every driver level out there. Or you could go down to Muskpgee to Gruber. Its not a bad place, similar to Chandler Park, but it is 100% legal.

Oh yeah! Forgot about White Water and Swift Park. They're alot of fun and close to town, too.
