: I want 22's (.5's that is)
tacobuggy101 02-28-2008, 10:57 AM Has anyone here done a 1-ton dually 22.5" rim conversion. I've searched here and other wise. Theres alot of wheel supply places that have really good deals on the alcoa semi wheels but what im really looking for is the 8 to 10 lug adapters. When I search "conversion" or "22.5" dually conversion" I get a bunch of info about shit I don't need. Anyway thanks.
m016324 02-28-2008, 11:18 AM search wheel adapter or semi wheel adapter. There are several companies that make the adapters. Most are steel which is good. I have seen a couple of sets but have never run them myself. There are also a couple of companies that make bolt on 22s for eight lugs if you don't want to mess with adapters.

tacobuggy101 02-28-2008, 11:53 AM thanks man, yea i've checked out a couple places that sell the fawking mega bling and thats just not my bag. I do think the big rig shit is pimp though. I even found a fleet supply place that has black steel 22.5's that are the shit thats what I'll prolly end up with when i find the adapters. I also have some friends around here that own trucking companies so I can get an infinant supply of take-off tires. Anyway thanks for the info, Jake
Gummi Bear 02-28-2008, 11:54 AM Are you wanting the big assed look, or the load carrying capacity?
If it's the look, Alcoa offers some, so do:

You may also look into 17.5" wheels. They're not nearly as tough to find in a 8 lug pattern, and you can get some super heavy load rated tires for them.

Do you mean 19.5's??? I've never heard of 17.5's.
22.5 STEEL rims would weigh a ton! I've got some steel 19.5's and they are heavy enough. 54lbs each.
azlineman 02-29-2008, 04:39 AM Get with chromewheel.com
Great to deal with, and good prices. I purchased mine from them, and got the tires locally. They have the best adapter too.
DEMON76 06-03-2008, 01:22 AM American force is where mine came from. looks like chromewheels are the same adapter. I'm 22.5-ing my Chev dually, with 22.5 aluminum alcoas. Freightliner directionals.........big rim duals, its a love hate thing. There is no in between

u2slow 06-04-2008, 09:29 AM I believe the 22.5" tires start at 36" tall.
19.5" suited my needs for size and weight. 33" tall and H/4800# rated.
Trailer Guy 06-04-2008, 04:15 PM WOW, you all got more money than me. And I thought my fuel bill was high.
vogelj 06-06-2008, 06:11 AM How about something like this?
m016324 06-06-2008, 08:16 AM had one of those it's fun to drive around town and not horrible to tow with but trying to get back to off-road places takes more work than driving the buggy through the rocks.

72blazer 06-07-2008, 09:37 AM would like to do this on a SRW, but usually all I find is stuff for the DRWs.

Oops, I just started a thread about this exact thing. Bring the discussion over there, maybe we can track something down.
