on a 14 bolt FF, how can you tell if it is the "new" style, or the "old" style

The old style has a drop out carrier a lot like a nine inch f*rd. Also the center section (diff cover) is round.

The new diff cover is, for lack of a better description, diamond shaped sorta like a D60.

Both have 14-bolts on the differential.

From one newbie to another :flipoff2: :)

The "Drop out style" is a Eaton rear axle not a 14 Bolt......

The "Old Style" 14 has a smooth top on the differential and you gotta remove the "hub" to get to the brakes.

The "New Style" 14 has "ribs" in the top of the diff. housing and the brake drums slide off the "hub" with having to remove it....

You can look at my web page at my "14 Bolt" page and you will see a few pics to help you figure it out.....

Oh Yeah......Welcome NEWBIE...:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :D
