Where do you get these coupons? I get their sales coupons via e-mail but I've never gotten a general 10%(15% or 20%) coupon. I tried using a 20% tonight when I bought my 20 ton press and was told they never honor more than a 15% coupon. That the 20% coupon was something someone made up and was sending around.

Harbor Freight used to send 20% coupons in their email ads. They had an expiration date on them and the validity of the coupon was also built into the bar code. If you printed the email ad, the coupon would print with an expiration date. You would then cut the coupon out of the ad and take it to the store. Because of the way the email was formatted, if you right clicked and saved the coupon, it would save without the expiration date. It would still "expire" in that when the expiration date was reached, the bar code would scan invalid. A lot of stores would manually key in the coupon and accept it anyway.

The problem is that lots of people kept printing and using expired 20% coupons. It reached the level of abuse. Harbor Freight caught on and cheaped out.

Now, I get a 15% coupon on the back of the printed flyer which they mail to me. This coupon is not on every flyer, but about every third or fourth one. The flyers come about every two weeks.

They do not email me percent off coupons at all. I stumbled across their 10% electronic coupon URL, and found that by changing a digit in the URL I could see the most recent coupon (but not until it is released).

There hasn't been any 20% coupon in a long time. The 25% and 30% coupons I believe were complete fabrications (photoshop). I have not seen them on any Harbor Freight URL and have never received one on a printed flyer.

I was able to use a few of the 20% coupons here in Boise but apparently they caught on. Actually when I tried using it last the store manager came to the register and started asking a bunch of questions, who'd you get this from, what site did you get it from. I just told him someone emailed it to me. He then informed me that they are counterfit and that's why he wanted to know where they came from. He stated HF has NEVER had a 20% coupon and their standard is 15%? Who knows, who cares...he gave me 20% the most expensive item I had - which sadly was just a bottle of degreaser - I went there to buy a parts cleaner but they were out and he wouldn't do a raincheck with that coupon!

FYI - There are some coupons that were apparently part of a coupon club or something....you can find them on ebay by searching "harbor freight coupon" By the sellers' feedback it looks like they are legit coupons and not just printed.

There are three of them:
15% off a single item
10% off entire purchase
$5 off $35 purchase

They expire 11/08

I just picked up 8 of each for $7 shipped.
I'm going to buy the big tool chest next time it goes on sale so the first 15% will be worth like $50.

Those look like the entertainment book coupons from around here. A lot of them are only valid locally, at least in the book I have, hopefully those are valid anywhere.

Thanks for posting the pic - I was searching for current coupons and came across this post. Pulled out my Entertainment Book and sure enough, HF coupons! :D Three coupons - 10%, 15%, and $5...

I've never had them turn me down yet with the one's we've been printing off the internet. I just used a 20% the other day and have even used the 30% one once. The manager just comes and overrides it and away I go. They all have scaned but will not come up as anything

Its been a few months since I've shopped at the local HF store (Arlington Heights, IL), but every time I go there I bring a stack of 20% off one item coupons, and they ring up every item I have one at a time, let me use as many coupons as I want, and do it with a smile.
